Ender’s Game Cast Interview’s with EW at Comic-Con 2013

With the hype and flutter of Comic-Con this year we probably missed some interviews the cast did during the event but here we are still trying to catch up with the press.

EW interviews Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld hours before their Hall H panel. Mostly they talk about the storyline of the movie and their characters. Also, about those darn painful harnesses!

Ender’s Game Cast Attends Teen Choice Awards 2013

This Sunday the Teen Choice Awards took place at the Los Angeles Gibson Ampitheater. With many young artists in attendance, the Ender’s Game cast didn’t miss out on the event. Abigail Breslin (Valentine Wiggin) and Hailee Steinfeld (Petra Arkanian) were two of the attendees and also helped present an award. (Didn’t get to watch the awards so not too sure what they presented, any clues?)

I have to say Hailee is becoming one of my favorite fashionistas. Her style is just crazily, fun and elegant. Abigail, too, brought some fun and elegance in her ensemble, along with her platinum locks. Check out a video of her aqua carpet arrival below.

Update: Here’s video of Abigail and Hailee presenting the award of Choice Movie Actor Drama at the award show. If it doesn’t automatically forward, go to the 9:49 mark to see the presentation.

Hailee Steinfeld and Asa Butterfield Talk Pranks and Harrison Ford

Here’s a funny Q&A done earlier this month where Hailee and Asa talk about a scene with Harrison Ford, the battle school lingo, and their off time on set.

They’re all amazing actors. Are there any stories you can share about working with them? Anything that happened on the set?

Butterfield: There’s one story with Harrison. It was on the shuttle, from when we first got into Battle School. We were all strapped into our chairs. We were in Zero-G, so our hands were floating. And then we look over our shoulder and Harrison comes in on a harness, just floating through the shuttle, and then he does his speech. And on his way back he started to flip. It wasn’t deliberate; he just started to roll over in the shuttle. I don’t think he found it as funny as the rest of us.

We all know the battle school slang the kids take up (bicho, kuso, farteater), if you’re wondering if the slang made it to the movie, it did.

The book is known for some pretty colorful curse words. Did they make their way into the movie?

Butterfield: They did. What were some of them? Bernard had… What was it? There were. All of the “Ender’s Game” lingo from the book is still in the movie. And all the cursing and stuff.

Like all friends, the cast played around during their off time and be sure there were pranks done. Read how director Gavin Hood pranked Hailee during their last days of filming.

Steinfeld: At the end of the film, one of the cast members, Moises Arias, who plays Bonzo Madrid, had to shave his hair for the ending scene. You know, it’s one of those things where you’re OK with it because you have to do it, but it’s also like, you know…

Butterfield: You’re shaving your hair.

Steinfeld: Yeah, it’s a big thing, right? So Moises handled it very well, but you could see he was a little, you know, taken aback by looking at himself in the mirror and this drastic change. And Asa and I walked on set and Gavin turns around and has a black eye. My heart dropped. I was like, “What just happened?” And he goes, “I told him. I told him that he could take it out on me because I made him shave his head. And I was literally, like, crying. I was like, “Moises would never do that. What’s happening?” And then they were like, “Just kidding! It’s makeup!” I was like, “I’m done. I’m getting out of here.” That was the biggest prank.

Summit’s Comic-Con 2013 Party

Ender’s Game made its presence known during San Diego’s Comic-Con 2013. With its grand tent and its huge logo standing tall just on the other side of the street from the convention center, fans didn’t mind walking the extra few feet to visit the Ender’s Game Fan Experience. What best way to promote the movie and for fans to see the epicness of Ender’s world than to show up at San Diego’s Comic-Con 2013?

After the Hall H panel that the cast of Ender’s Game participated on Thursday (July 18th), Summit Entertainment held their Comic-Con 2013 party for their featuring films at the Hard Rock Hotel. Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld were two of the eye catchers of the day and arriving that same day and joining the party was Aramis Knight who plays the beloved character, Bean.

You can view pictures of the cast below. Also, here are videos of the red carpet at the Summit party. In the first video the very first person is producer Roberto Orci as he poses for the cameras. At the 1:30 mark you can see Aramis Knight shining his white smile to the cameras as well. Video’s provided by ScreenSlam.

In this second video, at the 1:43 mark we see Asa Butterfield as he (awkwardly?) poses in his casual ensemble.

Here is an interview with Hailee Steinfeld while she walked the red carpet.

Comic Books, Comic Art and Nail Art?

A lot of buzz has been going around for the Ender’s Game cast, but I wanted to share something amazing about Hailee Steinfeld.

“I mean, I hat too…”

She wrote on her twitter account when posting the above pic of her Comic-Con and Ender’s Game inspired nails. And not only did she go all out on her nails but her wardrobe also for Wednesday night.

Just Jared EG Fan Experience

Following her fashion sense Hailee wore this eye catching dress by Kenzo which stole the sight of every camera at the Fan Experience exhibit.

I love her sense of style and I hope she keeps up with it because she is a fashionista.
