Ender’s Game Cast Attends Teen Choice Awards 2013

This Sunday the Teen Choice Awards took place at the Los Angeles Gibson Ampitheater. With many young artists in attendance, the Ender’s Game cast didn’t miss out on the event. Abigail Breslin (Valentine Wiggin) and Hailee Steinfeld (Petra Arkanian) were two of the attendees and also helped present an award. (Didn’t get to watch the awards so not too sure what they presented, any clues?)

I have to say Hailee is becoming one of my favorite fashionistas. Her style is just crazily, fun and elegant. Abigail, too, brought some fun and elegance in her ensemble, along with her platinum locks. Check out a video of her aqua carpet arrival below.

Update: Here’s video of Abigail and Hailee presenting the award of Choice Movie Actor Drama at the award show. If it doesn’t automatically forward, go to the 9:49 mark to see the presentation.

Variety’s Power of Youth 2013

Power of Youth 2013 honorees

This past Saturday Variety’s Power of Youth held their annual event at Universal Studios. Amongst the attendees were many young actors that included some of the Ender’s Game cast, Khylin Rhambo (Dink Meeker) and Aramis Knight (Bean). Every year they award young actors for their inspiration and work for charity and communities. This year amongst the honorees was our very own Valentine, Abigail Breslin. She was presented the GenerationOn Award along with Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) and Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of The Southern Wild).abigail-breslin-poy-honoree

Abigail is being honored for her work with Project Sunshine.

“They have a gala every year, they invited me, and I got really inspired by the work they do with the kids and families,” She shared.

“Their volunteers visit hospitals and do various programs, like arts and crafts, and their ‘star for a day’ program, where the girl is a princess and the boy’s a prince. What’s really special is that they also help the families; they bring in people to give the parents massages and visit the siblings of the a ected children.”

Happy Birthday Abigail Breslin!

Today Abigail Breslin, Valentine, celebrates her 17th birthday! The Huffington Post has put together a slide show of Abigail as she grew up under the spotlight. I have to say she has stood her ground when it came to her own style and we love that!

Abigail Breslin Talks About Ender’s Game Movie

Recently CNN Entertainment got the chance to talk to Abigail Breslin who portrays Ender’s older sister Valentine. We found out last year that the movie was going to take a different direction than the novel itself. However, many of the cast members have stated in some interviews that the movie, though different from the book, is in no way jeopardized from this decision.

“It does stay true to the book, which I’m excited about,” Abigail tells CNN Ent.

“The cast is so talented and I play Valentine,” she went on. “I love the character in the book as well, so it stays pretty true to the character in the movie.”

So it seems Abigail is also soothing our anxiety on the movie. Valentine is one character staying grounded to the book (which we already knew because, come on, Abigail is just amazing!). However, this doesn’t mean we need to worry about other characters. If the author approves of the movie, then we, as fans, should to.

Ender’s Game premieres November 1st.

The Clash of the Epic Characters: Valentine Wiggin vs. Nico di Angelo

The second lineup of contenders are up and this time our very own Valentine Wiggin is up against Percy Jackson’s Nico di Angelo. It seems like di Angelo has a great lead on Val so lets get her up in the stakes. Vote for her here.

This second battle is open until 8/29 so lets see if we can make Val a victor. Spread the word of the clashes and don’t forget to vote for the other three battles ongoing this week as well.

UPDATE: The second round of polls have closed and the results are in. Sadly Valentine did not win but the next set of battles are up and get excited because Ender Wiggin and Petra Arkanian are included in this set.
