Asa Butterfield Nominated for Critics Choice Movie Awards 2013

Deadline has revealed the list of nominees for the 19th annual Critics Choice Movie Awards 2013 and nominated for Best Young Actor/Actress is Asa Butterfield for Ender’s Game. Also nominated for the same category are:

Asa Butterfield – Ender’s Game
Adele Exarchopoulos – Blue Is the Warmest Color
Liam James – The Way Way Back
Sophie Nelisse – The Book Thief
Tye Sheridan – Mud

Though Ender’s Game isn’t nominated for any other category it’s still exciting to see Asa being noticed. Especially for Ender’s Game, which gained a lot of positive reviews from many critics.

Asa Talks About Ender’s Game at Critics Choice Awards

Asa gets to talk a little bit about being cast in Ender’s Game below. The interviewer at first just asks him questions about how he’s dealing with school, visiting L.A. (his 2nd time), and getting more offers, which leads Asa to talk about filming on a new movie in February, which he then mentions is “Ender’s Game.”

This kid seems amazingly mature for his age, but I think that will add a stronger performance as Ender. He believes that the script stays true to the book, so hopefully that will be the case. We’re looking to hear more about it in the coming months, when they actually do start filming.
